UV-531 is a benzophenone type UV absorber. It imparts good light stability when used in combination with a hindered amine. It shows good compatibility with polyolefins, plasticized PVC and also number of other polymers against degradation causedby light exposure. UV-531 is particularly suitable for thick films, typically > 100 m and thick sections. The low vapor pressure UV-531 prevents losses during processing. Low migration rates reduce the danger of blooming.
